TEACHING: Marilyn McIntyre currently teaches at the HFAStudio, Los Angeles and the HFAStudio, Australia in Melbourne, where she is the Director of the Acting Program. Along with Personalization, she teaches Foundation, Scene Study, and a new “Hagen Exercises” class in Melbourne.
In addition, Marilyn also teaches in Los Angeles at the Ted Brunetti Studio (On-Camera), the SAG-AFTRA Los Angeles Conservatory at AFI (American Film Institute), and “Elon in LA” (sponsored by Elon University, NC). She has also taught at California State University-Northridge, Old Globe Theater/University of San Diego MFA Program, University of Southern California, University of Texas, Austin, LA City College Theatre Academy, among others.
THEATER: Acting professionally on-stage and on-camera for over 35 years, Marilyn McIntyre has played lead roles on and off-Broadway, regionally and in Los Angeles where she has garnered many awards and nominations, including two L.A. Drama Critics Circle Awards, an Ovation Award, an LA Weekly Award, two Back Stage Garland Awards, 2 Drama-logue Awards, among others for her work with such companies as the Matrix Theatre Company, VS Theatre Company, Deaf West and InterACT. On Broadway, she played lead roles in Gemini and Scenes and Revelations, and multiple productions Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway with such companies as Primary Stages and The Production Company, along with independent productions. Marilyn has also worked with the NY Shakespeare Festival, Arena Stage, Washington, DC; Alley Theater, Houston, TX; Walnut St. Theatre, Philadelphia; Missouri Rep, Utah Shakespeare Festival, among others.
FILMS: Marilyn’s film credits include the feature, 30-Love (opposite Brenda Vaccaro), Heaven’s Rain (opposite Mike Vogel), On Holiday (opposite Harry Dean Stanton), Kurt Kuenne’s, Shuffle (with TJ Thyne of Bones), First Daughter (directed by Forest Whitaker), The Divided, The Ring 2, Very Bad Things (written and directed by Peter Berg), and the cult favorite live-action short, George Lucas In Love (directed by Joe Nussbaum), festival favorite, Into The Unknown (written by Joe Swanson and directed by John Dion, and Autism and Cake (opposite Ed Asner). Her most recent film, Love Meet Hope with Brad Fowler, Amanda Markowitz, and Ed Asner is scheduled for release in 2016.
TELEVISION: TV credits include: Grey’s Anatomy, Cold Case, Watch Over Me (series regular), General Hospital: Night Shift (recurring guest star), L.A. TRAINING: Marilyn McIntyre holds a BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and an MFA from Penn State University. In New York, she studied at HB Studios , Michael Shurtleff, and was a member of the NATAS (National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences) Actors Workshop. In Los Angeles, Marilyn had the privilege of studying with Uta Hagen in her Master Class and is featured on Uta Hagen’s Acting Class” doing “Object Exercise #10; Historical Imagination,” playing “Charlotta” from The Cherry Orchard.
